BMW Concept M5 ble offisielt lansert tidligere i uka. Først med offisielle bilder fra BMW, deretter på bilmessen i Geneve.

Concept M5 har ca. 500hk og 500nm, og gjør 0-100 på godt under 5 sekunder.

BMW gjør det klart at dette absolutt ikke er den kommende BMW M5, men en konseptbil, og at en lignende bil vil bli produksjonsmodellen og kanskje komme i løpet av ett år fra nå.

Savner en bitteliten hekkvinge..

Ja, det kunne nok vært fint. Det ser jo bra ut på dagens M5. Får håpe det dukker opp på produksjonsmodellen. Hvis ikke kommer det garantert noe fra Hamann, ACS, Rieger eller lignende. Det eneste problemet er at de ofte tar den litt langt. Må ikke bli for mye av det "gode"...

Ja, det kunne nok vært fint. Det ser jo bra ut på dagens M5. Får håpe det dukker opp på produksjonsmodellen. Hvis ikke kommer det garantert noe fra Hamann, ACS, Rieger eller lignende. Det eneste problemet er at de ofte tar den litt langt. Må ikke bli for mye av det "gode"...

Enig. Slike biler bør være så diskrè som det er mulig å få de.

Stemmer. Har sett dette i litt mindre dimensjoner, et firma jeg jobba i brukte ca. 1.5 mill på en firedagersstand under ONS 2002 (oljemessa her i Stavanger). Hadde curlingbane på standen, med Pål Trulsen som instruktør. Synes det var rimelig sykt jeg, men samtidig fikk standen utrolig mye oppmerksomhet. ;-)

Den vill koste mere enn det ca rundt 1,7mill.

Bilen skal jo komme med rundt 500hk så det blir mye det.

Bare avgiften på en ny M5 med V10 motor på 5,5 liter og 500 HK og med vekt på ca1800kg kommer på 853222,- kr + Moms

World premiere of the drive for the new BMW M5.

If a new M automobile presents the BMWS M GmbH, is traditionally the emphasis of the interest under the hood. With the new M5 this applies in completely special measure: Its V10-Motor world-wide probably embodies one of the most fascinating drives for a series automobile. This masterpiece of the technology has the number in common of cylinders with the Formel-1-Rennmotor of BMW WilliamsF1 not only, but also the singular high speed concept. As is the case for all high speed suction engines of BMW M generate it enormous thrust in all speed ranges.

First winding up V10-Motor in a series sedan. The V10 represents the at present only high speed engine in a series sedan. With ten cylinders, five litres capacity, 507 HP of achievement and 520 Newtonmeters torque at the same time is the M5 the strongest standard model in the BMW model family. 20 years after the first M5 the segment of high performance sport sedans, sets the new engine justified again the bench mark in this class. But achievement is not everything. Rather it depends with an M automobile particularly on the acceleration behavior and with it on the driving dynamics. This depends on the actually generated thrust and the vehicle weight. The thrust at the drive wheels results from the engine torque and the transmission translation. The high speed concept makes possible an optimal transmission translation and thus the conversion for an impressing thrust.

High speed concept as king way. For engineers of BMW M the way of the compact, winding up suction engine is the king way. With 8,250 min-1 advanced the ten-cylinder thereby into a number of revolutions region, which was reserved until recently reinrassigen racing cars. Opposite the past M5 eight-cylinder is the increase in output more than 25 per cent. The M5 exceeds thereby even the magic 100-PS-je-Liter-Grenze. Its specific achievement is thus clearly on racing level.

Masterpiece of the engine construction. BMW became famous as one the prominent an engine farmer particularly by its row engines. The two five-cylinder rows of the V10 are for oscillation and comfort-optimized balancer of the crank gear in the angle of 90 degrees arranged. For rigidity reasons, i.e. because of the high loads made of burn pressure, number of revolutions and oscillations, for the crank case a Bedplate construction was selected. For an optimal storage of the crankshaft grey cast iron Inlays are cast in into the Bedplate made of aluminum. These are also beneficial for the acoustic and oscillation comfort and the high oil throughput. The extremely rigid crankshaft is stored 6-fach. BMW inserts a Bedplate construction for the first time with the new M5 engine use a standard v-engine.

With the lightweight construction to the gram one pays attention. The one-piece aluminum cylinder heads of the V10-Motors are developed specific to banks and have the four valves for each cylinders typical for BMW engines. The valve impulse is appropriate in all construction units for small mass. Thus for the first time engines are used weight and flowoptimized valves with 5 mm shank, spherical bucket tappets with hydraulic valve clearance reconciliation (HVA) and single valve springs with M. The reached mass reduction is a condition for the high speed concept.

High pressure double VANOS for optimal gas change. The variable cam shaft control double VANOS provides in the new M5 engine for an optimally adapted gas change. Thus extremely short adjustment times can be realized. In practice is called: more achievement, better torque process, optimal responsing mode, less consumption and more low-pollution exhaust gas. Because by the double VANOS technology inlet and exhaust valves in each driving conditions can at the optimal in each case time open or close.

Single butterfly valves let the engine get deeply air. "air for breathing" gets itself the suction engine by ten flowoptimized aspirating pipes from two air collecting tanks. Racing-typically each cylinder has its own butterfly valve. All flaps are simultaneously operated. In order to make possible and achieve on the other hand also when calling high engine performance up a direct reaction of the vehicle on the one hand a sensitive responding of the engine in the low speed range, the butterfly valves are all-electronically steered.

Double-flow exhaust system made of high-grade steel. The exhaust system of the new M5 of engine made of smoothly manufactured high-grade steel is led double-flow into the mufflers, before the exhaust gas finally leaves the system by the four final pipes characteristic of M of vehicles. The exhaust gases fulfill the European EU4-Norm and/or the US-American LEV 2.

World-wide unique engine expensive equipment. For the outstanding achievement and exhaust data of the V10 the motor control ms S65. other motor control is not central responsible exhibits with more than 1000 independent devices such Packagedichte. Their processors are the highest performance, which are approved for application in the automobile at present, because the requirements of the efficiency of the motor control lie because of the high numbers of revolutions as well as the sum at control and tasks of regulation particularly highly. Highlight in the motor control: Ion current technology. A highlight of the engine expensive equipment is the ion current technology for the recognition of engine knocking, igniting and burn misfires. It makes it possible to control over the spark plug in each cylinder possible knocking to sensieren, the correct ignition and/or recognize possible misfires. The spark plug works thus at the same time as an actuator - for the ignition - and as sensor for the observation of the burn process. The ion current measurement takes place directly in the burn. The ion current satellite in such a way specified receives the signals from the five spark plugs of each cylinder bank. It strengthens these load-sensitive and conveys it to the motor control, which this analyzes then and adapts for example over the knocking regulation ignition cylinder-selectively ideally to the verbrennungsvorgang. The driver of the new M5 profits from it in form of an improved fuel consumption as well as a higher torque and achievement yield.

Filter course mg transmission brings the M to power on the road. The concept of a high speed engine comes up if the engine with an accordingly translated transmission is combined. Only so the torque placed from the engine to the order can be converted by means of short total translation into optimal thrust. With the filter course mg transmission is available exactly the transmission, which transports the power of the V10-Motors ideally over the drive strand to the wheels. BMW M offers a transmission with seven drill steps and drive log IC function, sequenziell which can be switched, with this transmission as world-wide first a manufacturer. Still more pronouncedly than the past six-course transmission the filter course mg permits both manual gangwahl with extremely short switching times and comfortable Cruisen owing to automated gangwahl. Likewise smaller number of revolutions and moment jumps are the result of the additional drill step.

New SMG brings 20-per cent profit at speed. The filter course mg transmission is switched either over the central shift lever or over then Paddles mentioned at the steering wheel. Opposite the past SMG transmission the new SMG generation settles the shifting process however by 20 per cent faster. In shorter time a transmission of this design could not be switched ever. The advantage for the M5 driver: The course change takes place almost "flowing" and substantially faster, than this driver even practiced could manage. Thus the force river interruptions inevitable when switching are hardly still perceptible. The M5 accelerates nearly without jerking from the conditions up to the maximum speed.

Drivelogic: The driver determines the switching characteristic of the SMG. By the drive log IC function of the SMG altogether eleven switching options are to the driver at the disposal, with which it can adapt the switching characteristic of the SMG of its desired driving fashion individually. Six of these driving programs can be preselected within the sequenziellen hand switching function (s-mode). They are enough from balanced dynamically to very sportily. In the s-mode the driver switches always by hand. In the function Launch control switches the SMG Drivelogic however optimally scarcely before reaching the respective maximum permissible engine speed and with optimally regulated slip, to the M5 its maximum speed reached in the automated switching mode D (Drive) mode switches the transmission the seven courses in principle automatically. This takes place dependent on the flow programme, the respective driving conditions, selected in each case, the speed and the position of the gas pedal.

SMG increases also security and the comfort. The filter course mg transmission does not only support the driver with reaching engine-sporty maximum output. It offers also many safety features. Thus it opens the clutch in critical driving conditions - for instance when shifting back on smooth roadway - very fast, so that the M5 does not break out at a too high engine dragging moment at the drive wheels. Other special functions are the upward gradient assistant, who make a backroll-free starting possible at upward gradients for short time, as well as the mountain recognition, who shift the switching points at upward gradients and downward gradients. Uphill thereby pendulum circuits are avoided. Downhill the mountain recognition keeps the low courses longer, in order to use the braking action of the engine better.

Production of high speed engines - engine construction of the finest one. In the high-power engine of the new BMW M5 the entire production authority of the BMWS reflects itself specialists in the engine construction. The strongest passenger car series engine of enterprise history develops together with other BMW special engines on a highly flexible production line in the BMW work Munich. The broad product range required on the one hand very agile processes, on the other hand a maximum of flexibility with the qualified coworkers, coupled with founded product knowledge and Geschick.Sowohl relating to crafts in the mechanical manufacturing and when the assembling of the high speed aggregate strictest quality yardsticks apply.
