Fjærbein fra E34 på E28

Jeg har søkt rundtom på nettet og funnet litt info om å kunne bruke fjærbein fra E34 på E28, men har ikke funnet noe skikkelig bekreftelse på hva som skal til med deler for at dette skal la seg gjøre.

 

Det jeg har funnet frem til nå er at jeg kan bruke fjærbein fra E34 i kombinasjon med E34 bærearmer (alle fire).

 

er det noen som har erfaring på dette og kan bekrefte/avkrefte dette før jeg "kaster" bort penger på deler jeg muligens ikke kan bruke.

 

Bilen jeg har er en '84 518 for de som lurer på det.

Men jeg trur fjærbeinet på E34 er lenger en på E28.

 

hvorfor vil du bruke E34 fjærbein?

Tilgang til deler og pris. Nåværende fjærbein er opprustet og må byttes.

 

Får tak i komplett 525 E34 forstilling til en rimelig penge, men er liten vits i å invistere om det ikke lar seg bruke.

Jeg har funnet noe mer som jeg tenkte jeg skulle dele med dem som er interessert.

On the front you will need the whole mcpherson with the plate which holds the tie rod and the wishbones. This is because the location and distnace of the holes and plates from e34 and e28 are the same, but on the e28 bolts that connect the mcpherson and the plate are 10mm and on the e34 they are 12mm. The strut mountings are also the same, so you take the e34's mcpherson with the plate and it is plug&play.
My e28 is now with front suspension from e34 (bilstein -35 springs and boge black dampers) and i'm quite satisfied with the result. Handling is much, much better and the car is sitting low and it's a prety thing to look at.
On the back, well, there is whole different story. As they have sad, the e34 dampers are higher and the strut mounts are different, so first you will have to modify your car so you can fit the mounts. The height problem, besides the fact that the car look like a dragster, causes negative camber. I put an e39 M sport suspension (e34 and e39 dampers have the same height) on the back of my e28 and it look like that:

It's not very clean picture, but you get the point. And it is not because i'm breaking 
I use the e28 mounts, it's a little risky, 'cause the springs are a little bigger and wider, and did not fit very well, but i use for a couple of track days and there was no problem.

One of the things that i think of doing to make this work, because it still handles prety well, is to take the strut, cut as much as i need and then make new screw on it, so you can put the mount on it. You keep the work quality of the damper, put reduces the height. I finaly removed them, cause i find a pair of B8's for e28, so i took them, cut my springs about 7cm and the result is more than satisfiyng. Perfect handling and height. But i'm not giving up the idea of using e39 suspension on e28.

Reasons to make all this modifications are first, a big lack of money, and second, which is a consiquence of that a lack of parts. My only option for good suspension for e28 is to order from ebay, which will cost me around 500 + euros for the cheapest coilovers. Moving to e34 suspension will make things a lot easier and a lot cheaper, 'cause here parts for e28 you can only order to be sent from Germany, there is nothing in stock. On the other side, there are a lot e34's and parts are easy to find.

tl;dr Kan bruke komplett forstilling fra E34 på E28. Kan også bruke komplett fjærbein/støtdemper, men da blir bilen 1" høyere.
