Otis Skrevet Februar 12, 2016 Skrevet Februar 12, 2016 3FF0 1. Check charge-air temperature sensor for plausibility (may indicate values that are too high, usually without fault entry). 2. Check air duct between intake silencer, hot film air mass meter and exhaust turbocharger for leaks. 3. Check air duct between exhaust turbocharger and intake plenum for leaks (oily patches are signs of leaks). Check whether sealing rings on charge air hoses are rolled back or missing! 4. Check air filter. 5. Check exhaust-gas recirculation valve for jamming, tight closing and fault code entries. 6. Check operation of swirl flaps and fault code memory entries. 7. Check operation of throttle valves and fault code memory entries. 8. Check intake ports and intake valves for coking (excessive oil loss from crankcase ventilation system can cause coking, especially when in the case of short-distance driving). If the previous checks are OK: Replace mass air flow sensor. 4862 Check the following possible fault causes: 1. Dirty or faulty air cleaner. Note: As of September 2011, air filter elements with increased tolerances were installed for N57D30O1 and N57D30T1, this can make the measured air mass appear too high, which leads to this fault. The faulty air filter elements have a thick grey mesh. These air filter elements are to be replaced by a new filter element (thin white mesh). 2. Charge-air temperature sensor faulty (displays values that are too high, mostly without fault entry). 3. Exhaust gas pressure sensor before turbine faulty (in conjunction with the faults 27B900 or 4C83 and/or 28DE00 or 4990). 4. Charge pressure sensor faulty. 5. Leaks in the air mass system: After the compressor (in conjunction with faults 241200 or 4674 and/or 241300 or 4679). The fault can also occur in combination with charging pressure faults. Such combinations are a sign that leaks in the air mass system after the compressor are the cause. Oil patches are signs of leaks. Check whether sealing rings on charge air hoses are rolled back or missing! 6. Exhaust-gas recirculation valve jams in closed position (in conjunction with the faults 272E00 or 4C9E and/or 255B00 or 40D4) or does not close correctly. 7. Leaking bypass pipe of EGR cooler (pipe could be broken). 8. Exhaust gas recirculation cooler clogged. Og Check the following possible fault causes: 1. Charge-air temperature sensor faulty (displays values that are too high, mostly without fault entry). 2. Exhaust backpressure sensor before turbine faulty (in conjunction with the fault codes 27B900 and/or 4C83 and/or 28DE00 and/or 4990). 3. Charge pressure sensor faulty. 4. Leaks in the air mass system: a.) After compressor (in conjunction with the fault codes 241200 and/or 4674 and/or 241300 and/or 4679). b.) Before turbine (in conjunction with the fault code 27B900 and/or 4C83). 5. Exhaust-gas recirculation valve jams shut (in conjunction with the fault codes 272E00 and/or 4C9E and/or 255B00 and/or 40D4). 6. EGR radiator is sooted. Additionally, for engines with single-step charging: Perform air-mass system test.
